| MATARROMERA WINERY |
The first plantations were carried out by the Cistercian monks who arrived in Valbuena de Duero in the 12th century and built the Monastery of Santa Maria Valbuena, an architectural jewel of the period and a permanent symbol of history. The monks brought different grape varieties from France, adapted them to the regional conditions and improved the local winemaking methods, a philosophy that has continued to this day.

For many years the Moro family has been cultivating vines and developing its wine. Continuing with the winemaking tradition of his ancestors, Carlos Moro decided in 1988 to renew the vineyard by building a new winery with modern technology, maintaining the traditional production method and incorporating all the elements of quality in materials and process control. In 1988, Matarromera was born.

| RENTO WINERY |
In Olivares de Duero, the Marquis de Olivares built a mansion with all its complementary stables, warehouses and other facilities. This house and winery have survived to the present day, living through many events in Spain’s history.
At first the building was a family home. Then it became a Jesuit monastery until King Carlos III expelled the order in the 19th century. At that moment the Moro family took charge of it, and recently Carlos Moro, devoted to the world of viticulture and enology, decided, along with his family, to restore the buildings and the wine cellar and create a wine of the highest quality in keeping with the estate’s history and age, but adapted to current tastes and using modern technology.

Rento also has a private restaurant, which is exclusively reserved for certain special events like family meals, meetings or lunches. It has a professional kitchen for preparing the most delicious dishes to be accompanied by the excellent wines produced here.
It also has a wonderful garden, where cocktail parties, concerts and many other events can be held in the marvellous setting of Olivares de Duero.
