MATARROMERA PRESTIGIO 03 OBTAINS GRAND GOLDEN MEZQUITA AWARD
MATARROMERA PRESTIGIO 03 has obtained the Grand Golden Mezquita in the XV National Wine Competition Awards 2009 held in Cordoba on 26 September.
The wine, produced at Matarromera winery, has achieved the highest honor of this event, to obtain, according to the jury, a score between 96 and 100 points.
MATARROMERA PRESTIGE 03 is one of the most special wines elaborated in this prestigious winery.
Made with 100% Tempranillo grapes manually harvested, and from the finest Matarromera vineyards, it has aged for 9 months in American oak barrels and for another 9 months in French oak barrels.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 22 at the Palacio de la Merced (Córdoba).
MATARROMERA PRESTIGIO Tasting Notes:
Visual Phase: intense dark purple hues; Very covered layer, clean and bright.
On the nose: It is powerful and very complex; very ripe black fruit dominating the range of mulberry and blackberry, in excellent balance with the aromas from its time in oak; spicy aromas of vanilla, black pepper, clove, licorice, chocolate, leather and cocoa.
On the palate: Sweet tannins skeleton with measure acidity. It has Great complexity with very long harmonious and persistent final.
