The Association of Food and Biotechnology of Castile and Leon involving Matarromera and Abrobiotec has been created

Matarromera Group President Carlos Moro, was also named head of VITARTIS, an association that brings together different actors around biotech and agro-food sector in Castilla y Leon, which was founded with the goal of promoting innovation in the sector of food, strategic sophistication and internalization.
The challenge of this partnership is to leverage the synergies between the emerging biotechnology sector and the powerful food industry in the region, thereby achieving greater development of the biotechnology sector, using all resources available to it at the regional, national and international levels. .

Vitartis is composed of thirteen agro and biotech companies, four universities and two research centers of Castilla y Leon: AbroBiotec, Panibérica de Levaduras, Verbia Nanotechnology, Hispanagar, Bioges-Starters, Cartif, Bodega Matarromera, Cetece, Emesa, Fundación General de la Universidad de Burgos, Galletas Gullón, Fundación General de la Universidad de Valladolid, Dulces y Conservas Helios, Fundación General de Universidad de León, Grupo Dibaq, Grupo Siro, Inbiotec, Laboratorios Jiménez and Universidad de Salamanca.. Currently, new members are joining the association, whose facilities are located in the Technological Park of Boecillo (Valladolid).

Carlos Moro, president of Vitartis highlighted the incorporation into the project of "key actors", as all technology centers linked to this area and all public universities of Castile and Leon.
 
Despite its few months of existence, VITARTIS has already undertaken a series of concrete actions, such as the construction of a regional consortium to prepare and submit, a project proposal for R & D Program Forward, Sub Idea & Decide , R & D mode Primer (Draft Regional Strategic Momentum in sectors), whose objective is the realization of industrial research projects among several independent companies, promoting mutual cooperation between them, with the scientific support / coach of the regional research organizations.
