
Matarromera Group, a reference winery in a sustainability active policy , it is one of the 175 corporations worldwide that today has joined to Challenge Communiqué '2 C ', promoted by "The Prince of Wales's Corporate Leaders' Group on Climate Change".
This public manifest reflects the expressed commitment of the big corporations in the fight against climate change and is limited to seven key actions related to international collaboration, market mechanisms, forestry, finance, innovation, adaptation and risk.
The manifest, which calls for a "strong agreement, equitable and effective" on climate change has been subsequent to the conclusion between the past 1 and October 7 of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Panama City. The document has its sights set on Climate Change Summit in Durban (South Africa), to be held at the end of this year and where companies signatory will delivered to governments the commitment meeting there.
Besides Matarromera Group, companies from 29 countries such as Shell, Vodafone, Adidas, BP, Nestle, KLM, Tesco, BSkyB, Unilever, Lloyds Bank and EDF, or Spanish BBVA Acciona warn of the urgent need for action against climate change that threatens to "undermine global prosperity and cause social costs, economic and enviromental problems in the world".
The group calls for the introduction of a global carbon price, increased financing low carbon technologies, the end of fossil fuel subsidies, reforms to the Clean Development Mechanism of compensation and the expected introduction of the Green Climate Fund.
